Ms. Chitwood

Early Childhood Education Teacher

Ms. Chitwood is teaching our Roots class this year. She grew up in beautiful Snohomish County, and loves everything about the Washington views and landscapes. She loves to go for hikes and adventurous drives through the mountains, and also loves to enjoy the ocean with her sister and dogs. She recently moved back from a small ski town in Colorado, and is happy to be in Washington for the beautiful Foggy scenery. She has been working with kids since 2018, as both a nanny and Lead Teacher in a daycare. Also in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and reading.

"I am so excited to be this year's Roots teacher and bring a community and education to young children. I can’t wait for the year to come!" -Ms. Chitwood

Miss Baker

Early Childhood Education Teacher

Miss Baker is teaching our ECE class this year and is so excited for this opportunity. She was born and raised in Whatcom County and has so much love for the landscape we all live in as well as the recreation we get to enjoy. In her free time, She enjoys so much that Whatcom and Skagit have to offer, hiking, mountain biking and snowboarding are her sources of outdoor time as well as art and baking yummy gluten free treats. Her dream is to allow our youth to enjoy the outdoors that she was so lucky to grow up in as well as teach them useful skills that allow for creativity to shine. She is a recent college graduate from Western Washington and found a passion for teaching children during her time there. Through years of nannying experience, time in classrooms and leading educational opportunities at our local museum she found that she has a knack for teaching our youth.

"Children are our greatest lights in this world, and it is critical that we give them the care and education they need to survive in this ever-changing world. I hope to give you a wonderful learning environment for your little ones and work alongside you to create the best experience and core memories for your children." -Miss Baker

Ms. Adrian has a passion for education and loves working with kids. She has a beautiful way of connecting with each child and building strong relationships with them. Some of her strengths include her ability to observe and adapt to the individual child and their needs. She believes we are all unique and wants to help each child grow into their true self. She has spent many years working in with children and has training in different alternative methods as well as studied human psychology and child development in college. She enjoys reading, running, and traveling around the world with her family. Recently spending three years in Portugal and seven years traveling through Europe, Ms. Adrian brings a worldview perspective to our community.

Ms. Ansley

Outdoor Education Teacher

Ansley is a rock and river-loving child of the desert who found her passion for teaching as a naturalist and earth skills instructor in the Pacific Northwest. She loves that she can incorporate her passions into her programs with lessons on botany and herbal medicine, wilderness survival, wildcrafting, and nature awareness. Her inspiration comes from writing songs, wilderness quests, cultivating relationships with the human and more-than-human communities, and - of course - long motorcycle rides. She is absolutely thrilled to combine her Waldorf training and experience as an outdoor educator to connect the students of Greenwood Tree Educational Cooperative to the wild world of nature this school year.
