Ms. Lauryn

Preschool

Ms. Lauryn has been working with children for nearly ten years. She's passionate about creating a diverse, caring community of learners in the classroom and helping young children be the best versions of themselves. She graduated from LWTech with a BAS in early childhood education in Spring 2024 and is eager to continue to learn from and with children.

Lauryn brings a wide range of experience, including teaching english as a second language in India, nannying, and work in multiple schools. Her lifelong love of storytelling and nature brought her to Waldorf education.

In her spare time, she loves backpacking, paddleboarding, and crafting. She brings her enthusiasm for nature and creative expression to the classroom, and loves nurturing those same interests in children. Her favorite part about teaching is seeing children's curiosity and sense of wonder grow.

Ms. Megan

Kindergarten/Grade 1

Ms. Megan brings over a decade of expertise in nurturing young minds. After extensive nanny experience and being a mother herself, she genuinely embodies a passion for children's well-being in the classroom setting. She actively incorporates diverse teaching modalities into her toolkit and offers expertise in holistic nutrition, informed by her achievements of the Nutritional Therapy Associate Certificate in 2022. A strong and experienced caretaker, Ms. Megan brings the spirit of empowerment and fosters self-reliance in her work with young children. She believes in encouraging outdoor/nature play, independent play, teaching age-appropriate life skills, and facilitating opportunities for "risky" play to allow for growth and understanding within their bodies and minds. She provides a warm, nurturing, and safe space. During her free time, Ms. Megan can often be found hiking, backpacking, camping, and sharing her love for Mother Nature with her daughter and beloved dog, Chloe.

Registrar & Bookkeeper

Shanna has always been passionate about children and finance.  After her having first child, Shanna completed her AA in Early Childhood.  She was soon blessed with two more children.  Always looking for other ways to nurture her children, she was involved in cooperative learning centers, being on the PTA, a Girl Scout Leader and Event Director for 7 years.   As her children became young adults, Shanna went back to college and obtained a BS Degree in Business Management and Accounting.   Operating her own business with her spouse for over 16 years, she felt a change was needed and soon found Greenwood Tree and fell in love with idea of a homeschool enrichment program.
